Slow!
I avoided using the OLF at first because of it! At first I thought it was the graphics but they load reasonably fast, then a hold up on the actual thread! I just open mutiple pages.

Well this week all is back to normal, good and fast. I have always opened topics in new windows to eliminate refreshes as much as possible.

I think the slow down I was having was due to our server or somthing on my end anyway. All is back to normal

its pretty dang slow for me on a very fast cable copnnection, usually every other page is instant OLF takes 2 seconds or more - sometimes I even have to refresh the page it stalls.
Cheers

Thanks, Brock, for the information regarding the database being Access. That explains a lot. Given that Access was really designed to be a desktop application and isn't multi-threaded etc., it's doing a really good job of keeping up with all of the activity. I've had Access databases freeze up under heavy load when used as back ends on the Internet. I predict that the change to SQL Server will solve a lot of problems.

Not only that... BUT..... the threading of these posts causes an exponential growth of database queries as pages are accessed. So the more users we have we are getting a geometric increase in database traffic rather than a linear growth rate.

We will fix this in the next release of the software. But again, that is a ways off.

Slow here at work with a T3 line and at home with DSL BUT if I select the thread as "open in new window" it pops right up.

Strange.

Here's a new one...

Loading speed has been okay for me, but I couldn't log in to the OLF this weekend. I kept getting an "unsuccessful login" message that said my cookies weren't working. However, cookies were enabled and security settings were at their usual midpoint. This happened once before, and each time it seemed to heal itself!
